Framed by three of New Zealand's première wilderness regions - Farewell Spit Nature Reserve, the famously scenic Abel Tasman National Park & the vast and rugged Kahurangi National Park - with superb weather patterns both summer & winter, and a small, diverse yet friendly population, Golden Bay is a unique, natural enclave at the north-western tip of South Island: an appealingly remote locale, with an easily accessible spirit.
After long and wearying photographic expeditions to remote regions of the world, for the team of Roving Tortoises, Golden Bay represents both home & retreat, as well as being a remarkably creative environment from which to administer the many and varied aspects of our photography business.

Beyond being out in the field, there is of course a lot more to the business of wildlife photography than just living on corned beef and wielding a camera!
